Service Technician – Water Treatment & Industrial Services

A leading Australian engineering and environmental services provider is seeking an experienced Service Technician to join its growing Adelaide team. The organisation delivers innovative water treatment and process solutions to customers across manufacturing, mining, utilities, food & beverage, infrastructure, and other industrial sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician who enjoys working autonomously, solving technical problems, and delivering exceptional service across a diverse range of customer sites.


The Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, commissioning, and optimising industrial and commercial water treatment systems throughout South Australia.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and routine servicing on water treatment equipment and systems
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and process-related faults
  • Commissioning new equipment and supporting plant upgrades and system optimisation
  • Operating and maintaining water treatment plant process units and associated ancillary equipment
  • Conducting inspections, testing and performance assessments to ensure optimal system operation
  • Completing service reports, maintenance records and quality documentation accurately and in accordance with company procedures
  • Maintaining the highest standards of workplace health, safety and environmental compliance
  • Providing professional technical support and building strong relationships with customers
  • Travelling throughout metropolitan, regional and remote areas of South Australia as required, working both independently and as part of a small team


About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Mechanical, Electrical or other recognised Trade Qualification, or an Engineering qualification
  • Current Electrical Licence
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • 3–5 years' experience in a similar Service Technician or Field Service role
  • Experience within commercial and/or industrial water treatment or a comparable industrial process environment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical and process issues clearly
  • Sound computer literacy and experience completing service reports and quality documentation
  • A strong customer service focus with excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work autonomously, use initiative and effectively manage priorities
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to following quality assurance procedures
  • A positive, reliable and team-oriented attitude with a strong commitment to safety
  • Flexibility to travel and work at regional and remote customer sites when required
