My client is expanding their national service team and seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to support customers across North Queensland. The role can be based in Cairns, Townsville, or Mackay and will involve travel throughout the region to service a diverse customer base. 

This position suits someone who thrives in a mobile, independent service environment and has strong experience with rotating equipment such as vacuum pumps, compressors, and pumps. 

• Perform servicing, repairs, maintenance, and commissioning of vacuum pumps, compressors, blowers and related rotating equipment. 
• Attend customer sites across North Queensland, with regular travel and periodic overnight stays. 
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults and complete service reporting. 
• Manage your day autonomously while representing the business professionally in the field. 
• Occasionally assist with major shutdowns or large service projects requiring extended travel. 

• Negotiable hourly rate depending on experience 
• Company van, laptop, mobile phone, tools, uniforms 
• ATO-aligned overnight travel allowances 
• Meal allowances for long days (over 10 hours) 
• Job security with a well-established national service operation 

• Strong field service experience with rotating equipment (vacuum pumps, compressors, blowers, pumps, etc.). 
• Must currently be a field service technician (not workshop-only). 
• Comfortable travelling throughout North Queensland, including overnight stays. 
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to work independently. 
• Plumber/Gas Fitter background or Medical Gas Licence is highly regarded. 
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
