Job Title: Senior Sales Manager – Valves & Instrumentation 

 

Location: Sydney, NSW | Frequent travel across Australia 

My client is a global leader in fluid control technology—manufacturing and supplying high‑performance valves, sensors, actuators, and instrumentation systems for liquids and gases. Their solutions empower industries from food & beverage and pharmaceuticals to water treatment and automation. They now require a Sales Leader, based from either Sydney or Melbourne location.  

 

Job Summary 

Lead regional sales efforts in line with global strategy. Act as a market ambassador and drive commercial success, value creation, and sustainable revenue growth. Deliver customer and channel strategies that achieve measurable results. 

 

Key Responsibilities 


Strategic Leadership & Execution 

  • Adapt and execute global sales strategies locally in line with longer-term plans 
  • Set and manage regional targets; collaborate with the Sales & Operations Manager 


Market Development & Growth 

  • Identify and pursue new markets, channels, and segments 
  • Grow new business while maintaining and expanding current accounts 
  • Gather and utilise market intelligence and competitor insights 


Customer Engagement & Sales Success 

  • Engage directly with senior stakeholders, negotiating and securing long-term partnerships 
  • Ensure consistent achievement of regional sales targets through disciplined planning and execution



Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Lead a high-performing team of 6–7 direct reports, serving as a role model 
  • Foster alignment with internal teams (e.g., SOM, technical support) to deliver customer-centric solutions 

 

Requirements 

  • Proven success in industrial, automation, process control, or flow equipment sectors—especially valves and instrumentation 
  • Previous people leadership experience  
  • Ability to manage large key clients simultaneously whist managing, monitoring and driving growth across Australia 
  • Engineering qualification, mechanical, electrical or mechatronic  
  • Strong strategic thinker with deep market knowledge 
  • Experience in acquisition, contract negotiation, and key account management 
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels 
  • Self-motivated, commercially astute, with hands‑on execution capability
