Type: Full-time | New Business Development
My client is a leading Australian-owned supplier of pneumatics, automation components, and engineered solutions, servicing key industries including manufacturing, mining, food and beverage, construction, transport, and renewable energy. As part of their continued national growth, they are seeking a Technical Sales Specialist to join their Sydney team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing customer-focused automation and motion solutions, building and maintaining client relationships, and proactively driving new business opportunities across the Sydney region.
This position will suit someone with engineering qualifications or strong industrial experience who enjoys technical selling, problem-solving, and partnering with clients to deliver innovative system-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while pursuing new business opportunities.
- Develop and deliver customer-focused, innovative solutions tailored to each client’s needs.
- Identify opportunities to expand sales within automation, pneumatics, and motion control applications.
- Collaborate with engineering and supply partners to deliver complete system solutions.
- Manage the full sales process — from initial engagement and design consultation through to commercial negotiation.
- Engage effectively across all organisational levels, from senior management through to production and maintenance teams.
- Meet and exceed sales targets while maintaining accurate CRM and reporting records.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronic, or related discipline) or equivalent technical/industrial experience.
- Previous success in technical or industrial sales, ideally within automation, manufacturing, or process industries.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confident presenting solutions, interpreting technical data, and working with system components such as valves, actuators, and control equipment.
- Proficiency with CRM/ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
Remuneration
A competitive salary package will be offered, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and proven performance.
