Field Sales Engineer – Mechanical Fluid Engineering Equipment
South Australia (Adelaide-based with regional travel)
The Opportunity:
My client is seeking a technically minded, self-motivated Field Sales Engineer to represent a well-established mechanical fluid engineering product line across South Australia and parts of New South Wales. This is a site-based sales role involving regular travel to key industrial manufacturing, Water, Chemical, and mining operations across the region.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Building trusted relationships with customers across mining, processing, and industrial sectors
- Managing a mix of metro and regional accounts with a focus on customer service and technical engagement
- Conducting 2–3 day regional trips every second month to sites like Whyalla, Port Augusta, Broken Hill, and beyond
- Providing support and solutions for complex mechanical systems on-site
- Collaborating with a tight-knit local and interstate team
What We’re Looking For:
We are open to candidates with a maintenance, service, or technical background—not just traditional sales professionals. You might be a technician, fitter, or site-based engineer who:
- Has experience servicing or supporting mechanical equipment in the field
- Is confident navigating hard-to-access industrial and mineral processing sites
- Knows their way around remote sites and enjoys hands-on client interaction
- Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
- Brings a strong understanding of how industrial clients buy and operate
- Comfortable with extensive regional travel (800-900 km round trips)
