Join a global leader in automation as a Sales Engineer based in Hamilton, promoting advanced control systems and driving growth across high-value industries in the region.

The Company:

With 65+ locations worldwide, this industry-leading manufacturer provides factory and process automation technology to clients globally. With a strong footprint in food & beverage, general manufacturing, packaging, timber, mining, and more—they're now seeking a technical sales engineer to grow the business across New Zealand’s North Island.

The Role:

  • Drive sales and manage key accounts across Hamilton and the North Island with a consultative, technical approach
  • Target food and beverage manufacturers and packaging companies
  • Work closely with clients to understand their challenges and provide tailored automation solutions
  • Report to the National Sales Manager and collaborate with the broader ANZ technical team
  • Travel: 3–7 nights away per month (Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Napier, Bay of Plenty)

The Candidate:

  • 4+ years external technical sales experience—ideally in automation, control systems, sensors, or factory/process equipment
  • Strong commercial acumen and solution-based sales skills
  • Ideally holds an Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering degree
  • Comfortable being on the road, managing a large territory, and independently building pipeline
  • Motivated, proactive, and excellent at building long-term client relationships
