My client, a global manufacturer and leader in electric motors and industrial automation technology, is seeking a seasoned Regional Sales Manager to lead operations across Queensland. This senior-level role offers an exciting opportunity to take full responsibility for sales performance, team leadership, and regional office operations within a high-performing business unit.
This is a pivotal leadership role for someone who combines deep industry knowledge, strong business acumen, and a passion for driving customer-focused growth.
About the RoleAs Regional Sales Manager, you will be the senior leader responsible for all aspects of commercial performance and operations in the Queensland region. This includes full P&L ownership, sales and business development strategy, staff performance, and customer relationship management across the company’s industrial motor and drive products.
You will:
- Lead and mentor internal and external sales teams to exceed revenue and growth targets
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with national objectives
- Build and nurture relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Brisbane office, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency
- Take the lead on budgeting, forecasting, stock planning, and contract negotiations
- Maintain a strong market presence by actively engaging in customer visits and site-based interactions
- Identify business development opportunities and lead tender preparation and proposal submissions
- Coach, recruit, and performance manage staff to achieve sustainable business growth
You are an experienced and driven leader with deep technical expertise in electric motors, drives, and industrial automation. You bring a strategic mindset, a track record of managing successful sales teams, and the ability to oversee complex operations across a large geographic territory.
You have:
- 15+ years’ experience in industrial sales, ideally within electric motors or drives
- 5+ years in a senior management or regional leadership role
- Trade or tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Business
- Strong understanding of budget control, forecasting, and P&L ownership
- Demonstrated experience preparing tender documents and negotiating major contracts
- Proven ability to identify new markets and grow existing business
- Natural leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills, with a passion for coaching teams
- Experience managing a regional office is highly desirable
