My client is a trusted global innovator in natural flavours, colours, purees, flavour systems, and integrated ingredient solutions, supplying to leading food and beverage manufacturers both in Australia and internationally. Known for their commitment to clean-label innovation and customer-led product development, they are now seeking a commercially driven Key Account Manager to lead and grow strategic relationships with locally based food & beverage manufacturers.
About the Role
As Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day management of a portfolio of key manufacturing clients across Australia. Your role will be focused on account retention, growth, and profitability, while ensuring the delivery of tailored, high-value solutions that meet customer needs.
You will:
- Own and grow key customer relationships within the Australian food and beverage manufacturing sector
- Develop and implement account strategies to drive category growth, margin performance and customer satisfaction
- Act as a trusted advisor, understanding customer innovation pipelines and aligning them with ingredient solutions
- Manage negotiations, tenders and contracts with commercial acumen and confidence
- Collaborate closely with internal technical, R&D, supply chain and customer service teams to deliver best-in-class service
- Analyse market trends and sales data to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
- Work autonomously across a well-established territory with minimal travel requirements outside Australia
About You
You are an accomplished B2B sales professional with a proven track record in managing large or complex food and beverage manufacturing accounts.
You bring:
- 5+ years' experience in key account management, ideally in food ingredients, flavours, or related food-tech sectors
- Strong commercial negotiation skills with a history of growing and retaining large accounts
- Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building abilities
- A deep understanding of the sales process within food manufacturing environments
- A strategic mindset and the ability to drive long-term customer value
- A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline
- High attention to detail, solution-oriented mindset, and ability to work across cross-functional teams
