Human Resources / Personnel Officer

My client is seeking an experienced Human Resources / Personnel Officer to join their Melbourne team. This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional to play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture while managing HR policies, compliance, and payroll processes across the ANZ & SE Asia region.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Human Resource Management or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar HR role
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse information and develop solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to handle sensitive situations confidentially
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to contribute to a positive workplace culture
  • High ethical standards and integrity in all interactions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer HR policies and ensure compliance with legal and reporting requirements
  • Manage fortnightly and monthly payroll, including data preparation and internal approvals
  • Coordinate recruitment, interviews, onboarding, and employee orientation programs
  • Maintain accurate personnel records, including promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations
  • Advise management on employee relations matters and support conflict resolution
  • Conduct exit interviews, investigate workplace incidents, and prepare reports for insurance purposes
  • Undertake wage surveys and provide insights to maintain competitive remuneration packages
  • Prepare HR reports and recommend initiatives to improve retention and reduce absenteeism
  • Serve as the primary liaison for HR-related inquiries and issues
