Our client, a leading global manufacturer, is seeking an experienced and driven Head of Sales to lead their Sydney-based operations. This key leadership role will oversee the New South Wales region, focusing on driving regional sales performance and fostering collaboration across the local team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, commercial acumen, and proven leadership in technical sales environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Budgets: Deliver on state sales budgets, maximise growth opportunities within set budgets, and drive operating profit. Coordinate regional strategies to meet business goals and optimise resource allocation.
- Market Share: Implement strategies to grow market share in NSW through new and existing product channels. Oversee local marketing initiatives and align with national strategy.
- Operational & Administrative Functions: Supervise sales reviews, contract approvals, quotes, and tender processes. Ensure timely and accurate processing of sales and maintain strong debtor management.
- Leadership & Development: Lead and develop a cross-functional team including one Regional Sales Manager, administrative, and internal sales staff. Promote a high-performance culture through coaching and mentorship.
- Corporate Governance: Ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements. Uphold company values of trust, respect, and accountability while supporting EH&S and QA best practices.
Skills & Experience
- Qualifications: Trade qualification or tertiary degree in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics desirable. Business or senior leadership qualifications highly regarded.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior sales leadership role within a technical product or industrial sales environment. 10+ years’ experience working with mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical engineered products.
- Skills: Strong leadership, strategic sales planning, commercial acumen, and a successful track record of customer relationship development and team performance.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adaptable to varied stakeholders.
- IT Skills: Strong working knowledge of MS Office and CRM systems.
- Compliance: Understanding of EH&S procedures, QA systems, and relevant legislation.
