My client is a well-established Australian food and beverage manufacturer known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a skilled Food Technologist to join their Melbourne-based team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering new product development projects from concept to commercialisation, ensuring product quality, and supporting process optimisation initiatives across multiple product categories.

This position will suit someone with a strong technical background in food science or chemical engineering who enjoys hands-on product development, innovation, and continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver new product development projects from concept to commercialisation.
  • Conduct formulation trials, stability studies, and product testing to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with production teams to scale up formulations and optimise manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and internal quality systems.
  • Research and develop new product ideas and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, formulations, and trial reports.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within food or beverage manufacturing.
  • Strong technical knowledge of food formulation, processing, and product stability.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
