Fitter – Rotating Equipment (Workshop & Field)

The Company
Our client is a global OEM specialising in vacuum and compression solutions, supporting industries including chemical, mining, power, food processing, wastewater, and heavy industrial.
With over 100 years of engineering heritage, they are known for delivering reliability, performance, and technical excellence across critical rotating equipment.
Operating ISO-certified service centres with OEM parts, factory-trained technicians, and specialised tooling, they provide high-quality overhaul, repair, and field service solutions backed by manufacturer warranty.
The Role
This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on:
- Workshop-based overhauls (≈80%)
- On-site service work (≈20%)
You will be working across:
- Liquid ring vacuum pumps
- Industrial pumps
- Compressors
- General rotating equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Strip, assess, overhaul and rebuild rotating equipment
- Service and repair pumps, vacuum systems, and compressors
- Conduct fault finding, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance
- Perform on-site servicing, installation, and troubleshooting
- Work across seals, bearings, shafts, and alignment systems
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate records
- Support customers with reliable technical service
What You’ll Bring
- Trade Qualified: Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner (Cert III)
- Experience with pumps, compressors, or rotating equipment
- Exposure to liquid ring vacuum pumps highly regarded
- Strong mechanical understanding of:
- Bearings
- Seals
- Alignment
- Reliable, self-motivated, and hands-on
- Comfortable in both workshop and field environments
