Maintenance Fitter – Food Manufacturing

About the Company
Our client is a global food ingredients manufacturer supplying products used across the dairy, beverage and broader food manufacturing sectors.
They operate a modern manufacturing facility producing fruit preparations and ingredients used by leading food brands, and are currently looking to strengthen their maintenance team with a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Fitter.
The Role
This position sits within the site maintenance team supporting a busy food production facility.
The focus of the role is keeping production equipment running reliably while supporting plant improvements and upgrades across the site.
You will work across a variety of food processing and packaging equipment, ensuring breakdowns are resolved quickly and preventative maintenance programs are completed effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical maintenance across production and processing equipment
Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns to minimise production downtime
Carry out preventative maintenance (PM) and equipment inspections
Replace and repair mechanical components including bearings, seals, motors and gearboxes
Work on equipment including pumps, conveyors, mixers, fillers and packaging systems
Assist with plant improvements, reliability initiatives and equipment upgrades
Support installation and commissioning of new production equipment
The Ideal Candidate
Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Fitter
Experience working in food manufacturing, beverage, dairy or FMCG environments (preferred)
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
Experience maintaining production line and processing equipment
Comfortable working closely with production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
