The Role

  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs both onsite and in the workshop
  • Installing, commissioning, testing, and optimising industrial equipment
  • Responding to customer breakdowns and delivering timely technical solutions
  • Building strong relationships with customers through professional on-site service
  • Identifying opportunities for equipment upgrades, service agreements, and replacement solutions
  • Completing service reports and maintenance documentation accurately
  • Maintaining company vehicles, tools, and equipment to a high standard

  • Supporting and mentoring apprentices or fellow technicians where required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Motor Mechanic, or similar mechanical trade
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience servicing industrial mechanical equipment
  • Experience with air compressors, pumps, rotating equipment, generators, or related machinery (highly regarded)
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • A customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Good computer skills for completing service reports and documentation
  • A proactive, organised, and safety-first attitude with the ability to work independently

What's on Offer

  • Competitive hourly rate + Super + Company Service Vehicle
  • Overtime opportunities and travel allowances
  • Fully maintained service vehicle, tools, phone, and laptop provided
  • Stable, long-term career with a leading industrial organisation
  • Ongoing product training and professional development
  • Supportive team culture with genuine career progression opportunities
  • Diverse field-based work across Melbourne's industrial, manufacturing, food & beverage, utilities, and commercial sectors, where no two days are the same
