Field Service Technician

Work Your Magic with us. Before scientists can deliver breakthroughs that impact life and health, their instruments and process systems must perform without fail. As a Field Service Technician, you will keep laboratory water, filtration and bioprocessing technologies running so customers can focus on discovery—not downtime.

Performance Objectives

  • Complete on-site installations, qualifications and start-ups of assigned systems within scheduled timeframes and first-pass acceptance criteria.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and process issues, restoring full operation on the first visit wherever possible.
  • Deliver hands-on operator and maintenance training, enabling customers to operate and care for their systems independently.
  • Document every visit completely and accurately in company systems on the same day, ensuring parts, billing and compliance records remain current.
  • Identify upgrade, consumable and service contract opportunities during visits and communicate them effectively to the commercial team.
  • Maintain assigned territory response times and customer satisfaction scores that meet or exceed team targets.
  • Share field observations regarding product reliability and usability with product and applications teams to support continuous improvement.

Environment and Resources

You will report to a Field Service Manager and work closely with Applications Specialists, Account Managers and Technical Support. You will travel throughout a defined territory with a fully stocked vehicle, company laptop, diagnostic tools and parts inventory.

Comprehensive training, remote engineering support and digital work-order systems are provided. The position involves regular travel to customer sites.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven ability to install, troubleshoot and repair electromechanical, fluidic or process-control equipment within a regulated or laboratory environment.
  • Hands-on experience reading schematics, using multimeters and diagnostic software, and following GMP or ISO documentation practices.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to scientists and facility personnel.
  • A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned region.
  • Ability to safely lift and position equipment.
  • An associate degree or relevant qualification in a technical discipline, or equivalent military or technical training supported by relevant field experience.

Role Selling Points

  • Direct impact: keep essential scientific equipment operating for biopharmaceutical and research customers.
  • Breadth of technology: work across laboratory water, filtration and bioprocess systems rather than a single product line.
  • Supportive culture: join an inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, professional development and career growth.
  • Competitive remuneration and benefits, together with a fully equipped vehicle, tools and technical support.
  • Join a leading global science and technology organisation with approximately 60,000 colleagues worldwide.

Apply now to join a team dedicated to supporting scientific discovery and improving human health. Bring your technical expertise and customer focus to help scientists perform at their best.
