The Role

Based in Adelaide, this position will combine field sales, account management, new business development and distributor/channel partner activity.

Working closely with end users, OEMs, system integrators, electrical contractors, consultants, distributors and internal technical specialists, you will be responsible for growing sales across a broad industrial and automation product portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and developing relationships with existing customers across South Australia

• Identifying and converting new business opportunities across industrial, automation and electrical markets

• Working closely with distributors and channel partners to support joint customer opportunities

• Spending approximately two days per week focused on distribution-related activity

• Driving product penetration and cross-selling opportunities across existing accounts

• Building relationships with OEMs, system integrators, contractors, consultants and end users

• Promoting automation, PLC, control panel, connectivity, networking and electrical product solutions

• Working with the Field Applications Engineer to support technical presentations, site visits and Lunch & Learns

• Facilitating customer meetings, product demonstrations and technical discussions

• Supporting specification-driven project opportunities through contractors, consultants and end users

• Maintaining strong pipeline activity and achieving state-based sales targets

• Planning meaningful customer visits and ensuring each engagement delivers value

• Acting as a trusted technical and commercial contact for customers across the region

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally bring a strong mix of technical capability, customer engagement skills and commercial drive.

You may come from an electrical, automation, control systems, instrumentation, industrial networking, OEM, system integration or technical sales background.

Key requirements include:

• Electrical, automation, mechatronics, instrumentation or related technical background highly regarded

• PLC / automation knowledge highly desirable

• Experience selling technical products or solutions into industrial customers

• Exposure to OEMs, system integrators, contractors, consultants, end users or distribution channels

• Strong relationship-building skills and ability to influence across multiple stakeholders

• Ability to understand customer applications and identify relevant technical solutions

• Strong planning skills and ability to manage a busy field-based territory

• Commercially minded with the ability to identify new opportunities and grow existing accounts

• Confident working with internal technical specialists to support customer outcomes

• Comfortable conducting customer visits, presentations, Lunch & Learns and joint calls

• Self-motivated, organised and able to work autonomously in a field-based role

• Existing Adelaide or South Australian industrial network highly regarded
