Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Technical Sales Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our growing team in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in heat exchangers or related process equipment and have a proven track record in sales. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with existing clients while identifying and developing new business opportunities within various industries, including food and beverage, mining, and dairy processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to drive sales and expand market presence
- Conduct market research to identify potential customers and assess their needs related to heat exchange and process equipment
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals that communicate the value of our services
- Collaborate with the service team to ensure seamless service delivery and high customer satisfaction
- Monitor market trends and competitors to identify new growth opportunities
- Work closely with management to develop strategic sales plans aligned with company objectives
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in technical sales or business development within the engineering or manufacturing sector, preferably in heat exchangers or related equipment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operational workflows in food & beverage, mining, or dairy industries
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team engagement
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and meet sales targets
- A technical degree or qualification in engineering is preferred, though equivalent experience will also be considered
Personal Attributes:
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new business
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Comfortable discussing technical equipment and processes with clients
- Team player who contributes positively to workplace culture
Compensation:
- Salary Range: base + super
- Bonuses: Performance-based incentive structure
