About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and technically adept Automation Sales Engineer to join a forward-thinking team based in Melbourne. This role is perfect for someone with an electrical or electronic engineering background who enjoys external field sales and consultative solution selling. You’ll work with engineers, system integrators, and contractors to provide automation products and systems that address complex industrial needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive automation sales across Victoria by identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including engineers, consultants, and contractors
  • Present technical solutions and deliver compelling proposals tailored to client requirements
  • Collaborate with internal and external project teams to ensure seamless execution
  • Meet and exceed sales targets and contribute to regional growth
  • Attend industry events and stay informed on automation trends and technologies
  • Provide market feedback to enhance products and customer engagement strategies

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field
  • 3+ years’ experience in external field sales, ideally within the electrical or automation industry
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and active listening
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with a strong desire to learn
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Experience working with engineers, consultants, system integrators, and contractors
  • Proactive and solution-focused with a high level of initiative and personal credibility
