With over 60 locations worldwide, our client is a manufacturer of electrical automation components and solutions, that drive technology used in factories and process automation applications on a global scale. Operating across major industries including manufacturing, packaging, food and beverage, mining and more, they now seek a technical sales engineer to join their dynamic team based in Hamilton NZ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Base Management: Grow and maintain the customer base with a consultative approach, targeting the Food & Packaging/ Manufacturing sectors.
- Product Support: Promote and support a range of Pneumatic and Electrical automation products through designated territory.
- Technical Solutions: Identify client needs and provide technical solutions for complex systems to enhance production and efficiency.
- Manage and grow client relationships, particularly in dairy manufacturing, food processing, and packaging industries.
- Travel throughout the Waikato region: 3–7 nights away per month (including Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Napier, and Bay of Plenty).
- Work closely with existing sales team members covering Auckland.
- Attend weekly team lunches and collaborate with the broader team when possible.
The Candidate:
- Experience: 4+ years of sales experience with mechanical or electrical components, such as pneumatics, valves, or industrial electric automation products.
- Technical Background: Candidates with an electrical or mechanical engineering background, experience in industrial automation, pneumatics, hydraulics, valves, or actuators, with a deep understanding of their applications in a manufacturing or process environment are highly regarded.
- Skills: Strong drive and determination, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to build new business and maintain relationships.
- Qualification: Preferred qualifications include Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
