Our client is a specialist provider of industrial water treatment solutions, supporting customers across manufacturing, processing, utilities, commercial, and heavy industrial sectors throughout New South Wales.

With a strong reputation for technical expertise, customer service, and tailored water management solutions, the business continues to expand its regional presence and is seeking an Area Manager to lead operations and customer engagement across the Newcastle region.


The Role

We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee regional operations, support existing client relationships, and drive service excellence across a portfolio of industrial and commercial customers.

This role combines operational leadership, customer management, and team support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with both customers and technical teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring service delivery standards are maintained while identifying opportunities for business growth and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with existing customers across the Newcastle region.
  • Lead and support service technicians and operational staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Oversee regional operational performance, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and act as the primary escalation point for service-related matters.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer outcomes and expand service offerings.
  • Support business development activities and contribute to regional growth initiatives.
  • Monitor operational KPIs, budgets, and service performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient project and service delivery.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and customer service excellence.


About You

  • 2–3 years' experience in an Area Manager, Operations Manager, Service Manager, Branch Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • Experience within water treatment, environmental services, industrial services, utilities, engineering, or related industries.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Water Management, Business, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance operational performance and customer outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive and solutions-driven approach.
