My client is a global leader in manufacturing and processing water-soluble polymers, providing innovative solutions that enhance water treatment, industrial efficiency, and environmental sustainability. With a diverse product range designed to optimize processes across industries such as municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, mining, oil and gas, agriculture, and manufacturing, they play a vital role in preserving natural resources and promoting recycling. Operating in over 140 countries with a strong presence in key global markets, my client continues to invest heavily in research, development, and production, ensuring they remain at the forefront of their industry. They now seek the assistance of a seasoned Account Manager from the industry to manage and grow their accounts from a Sydney location.
About the RoleReporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for both technical and commercial account management across key industries, including:
- Municipal and industrial wastewater treatment
- Water filtration and liquid-solid separation applications
- Sand quarries and heavy industry
This is a hands-on, client-facing role with approximately 70-75 percent of time spent in the field, including 5-8 nights of overnight travel per month.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and grow key accounts within the territory
- Conduct site visits, troubleshoot process challenges, and introduce new solutions
- Perform testing trials and recommend improvements to optimize customer operations
- Prepare service reports, forecasts, and monthly business updates
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and develop new business
- Lead commercial negotiations, manage tenders, and oversee pricing strategies
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience and retention
- Provide technical support and training to clients
- A bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, or a related field
- 5-10 years of experience in water/wastewater, chemical, manufacturing, process industries, or technical sales in the chemical sector
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle technical discussions and commercial negotiations
- A self-starter who can work independently and problem-solve effectively
- A results-driven mindset with business acumen and a customer-first approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software
- A valid C-class driver’s license
- Full working rights in Australia
- Ability to travel regionally for 5-8 nights per month
